One of the best parts of being a Biologic Coordinator isn’t something you’ll find in a payer policy or a training manual.

It’s finding your people.

Let’s be honest, our jobs can be challenging. We spend our days navigating denials, chasing approvals, solving problems, and advocating for patients who are often counting on us during some of their most difficult moments. While every practice is different, most of us share the same victories, frustrations, and daily obstacles.

That’s what makes the BCoD community so special.

There is something incredibly comforting about having a group of people who just get it. People who understand the excitement of finally securing an approval after weeks of appeals. People who celebrate with you when a patient gets access to a medication they’ve desperately needed. People who know exactly why you’re frustrated when a payer changes its formulary for the third time this year.

Sometimes all it takes is a quick text to the group chat, a question during a webinar, or a conversation at a local roundtable to be reminded that you’re not doing this alone.

Over the years, BCoD has grown into much more than an educational organization. Through group texts, member webinars, local roundtables, and our national conferences, we’ve built a network of colleagues who freely share ideas, resources, advice, and encouragement. We celebrate each other’s wins, troubleshoot challenges together, and support one another through the tough days.

And there are plenty of wins worth celebrating!

The patient who finally gets approved. The denial that gets overturned. The coordinator who lands a promotion. The member who shares a solution that saves everyone hours of work. The friendships formed over conference coffee breaks that turn into daily conversations and lifelong professional connections.

The knowledge we gain from each other is invaluable, but the sense of community is what keeps many of us coming back.

In a role where we spend so much of our time advocating for others, it’s nice to have a community that advocates for one another so passionately.

BCoD reminds us that while our practices may be hundreds or even thousands of miles apart, we’re all working toward the same goal. And along the way, we’ve built something remarkable here. A community that lifts each other up, shares the burden, celebrates the successes, and reminds us that we never have to navigate this journey alone.

That’s the real magic of BCoD.

It’s not just the education.

It’s not just the resources.

It’s the people.
