Getting to Know the BCoD Committee: Crystal Howard, LPN

By Crystal Howard, LPN, Certified Biologic Coordinator, Georgia Dermatology & Skin Cancer Center

Q: What is an interesting fact about you that we would not find on your resume?
A: I’m a bit of a control freak…lol. I hate asking for help and do not delegate well. I love to organize things and will block out everything else around me until I get it done.

Q: What was your first job?
A: Cashier at Winn-Dixie grocery store

Q: What does a typical weekend look like for you?
A: Usually extremely busy. Either working on our house remodel, redoing furniture or working in my yard.

Q: What motivates you?
A: My husband, kids and now my absolutely wonderful grandbabies.

Q: What is your favorite place you’ve ever travelled to?
A: Any place related to Disney

Q: What is the first thing you’d buy if you won the lottery?
A: A house in Golden Oak Community on Disney property.

Q: If you could be a pro at any Olympic Sport, which one would you choose?
A: Weightlifting

Q: How long have you been a BC?
A: Long before I knew it was even a thing – about 13 1/2 years

Q: How did you become a BC?
A: It kind of fell in my lap.

Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Developing relationships with my patients, tackling difficult PA’s and winning. Writing appeals letters and getting an approval after others have tried for 2 years and were not able to get approval.

Q: What excites you about your involvement in BCoD?
A: Getting to know other BCs, collaborating on similar topics or problems and helping each other with solutions. Coming up with ways to help new and future BCs.
