Getting to Know the BCoD Committee: David Hartigan

As part of our ongoing spotlight series, we caught up with David Hartigan, Biologic Coordinator/BCoD CE Chair – Optima Dermatology, to learn more about his background, what motivates him, and what excites him about being part of BCoD. From coaching football to building a custom home, David brings dedication and forward-thinking to every aspect of his work. Here’s what he shared.

Q: What is an interesting fact about you that we would not find on your resume?
A: I coach football.

Q: What was your first job?
A: Party City.

Q: What does a typical weekend look like for you?
A: Coaching football/games, yard work.

Q: What motivates you?
A: I do like learning about history.

Q: What is your favorite place you’ve ever travelled to?
A: Tennessee.

Q: What is the first thing you’d buy if you won the lottery?
A: Land and build a custom home.

Q: If you could be a pro at any Olympic Sport, which one would you choose?
A: Pole vaulting.

Q: How long have you been a BC?
A: 7.5 years.

Q: How did you become a BC?
A: Started as an MA, then created a position and showed the importance of a BC which then allowed me to move into that position.

Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: This is the one way to be the care team without being an actual provider.

Q: What excites you about your involvement in BCoD?
A: Learning new things, and being able to pass along the things I’ve learned to help those coming in after me.
