As part of our ongoing spotlight series, we spoke with Biologic Coordinator Hailey LaRosa to learn more about her journey—from living off the land to diving into a new role with heart and determination. With six months of hands-on experience and a love for building patient relationships, Hailey brings a grounded and passionate perspective to the BCoD community. Here’s what she shared.
Q: What is an interesting fact about you that we would not find on your resume?
A: I do not go to the grocery. I grow and make everything we eat in my house.
Q: What was your first job?
A: Golden Corral.
Q: What does a typical weekend look like for you?
A: Outside with my dogs and playing in the dirt.
Q: What motivates you?
A: My family.
Q: What is your favorite place you’ve ever travelled to?
A: San Francisco, California.
Q: What is the first thing you’d buy if you won the lottery?
A: Lots of land and animals.
Q: If you could be a pro at any Olympic Sport, which one would you choose?
A: Swimming.
Q: How long have you been a BC?
A: 6 months.
Q: How did you become a BC?
A: Our previous BC left and no one else wanted or knew how to do the job, so I stepped up and took over.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Getting patients what they need and creating patient relationships.
Q: What excites you about your involvement in BCoD?
A: The opportunity to collaborate with other BCs to hopefully create some guidelines for newer BCs and support other BCs over time.
