In Her Own Words: Nyesha Solomon on Motivation, Motherhood, and Making an Impact

As part of our ongoing spotlight series, we sat down with Biologic Coordinator Nyesha Solomon to learn more about her background, what motivates her, and what excites her about being part of BCoD. From her early beginnings to her current work helping patients navigate access to care, Nyesha brings a unique blend of curiosity, compassion, and creativity to everything she does. Here’s what she shared.


Q: What was your first job?
A: My first job was at Taco Bell as a cashier. Fast food is not my thing lol.

Q: What motivates you?
A: My kids, being apart of a supportive organization, reaching personal/professional milestones.

Q: What does a typical weekend look like for you?
A: Spending time with my 6-year-old daughter Alyra.

Q: What is your favorite place you have traveled?
A: Virgin Islands (it was relaxing, beautiful, and my time with my friends).

Q: How long have you been a BC?
A: Since 2013.

Q: How did you become a BC?
A: My son was sent a prescription for his eye condition and pharmacy told me to call the provider. I spoke with them and they explained a PA was needed but they do not help with it—only send alternative or I can do it myself. I took the time out to research and sent my first PA.

Q: What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery?
A: Property.

Q: If you could be a pro at any Olympic sport, which would you choose?
A: Volleyball (I used to play in high school and was good at it).

Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: It gives me the option to be creative, low stress setting, and being able to help my patients overcome certain barriers.

Q: What excites you about being involved in BCoD?
A: Showing my creative side, collaborating with people just like me, learning, and making a real impact.

Q: What is an interesting fact about you that would not be on your résumé?
A: I wanted to be a forensics nurse. I love real crimes (trying to solve the case), Weather Channel is my favorite (tornadoes). I have 2 cats—Coco and Scrappy!!

Q: What are your hopes for the future?
A: I just want to grow professionally and family (personal). Enjoy life.
